Welcome to The Finnish Young Statisticians Workshop (FYSW2023)!
FYSW is an annual networking event for doctoral students in statistics and related fields. The workshop is organized by the Finnish Society of Biostatistics in collaboration with the Finnish Statistical Society. This year the event will take place in Jyväskylä.
The meeting provides an excellent opportunity for academically young statisticians to present their results and meet their peers. In this event all the speakers are doctoral students from different Finnish universities. All registered doctoral students are guaranteed an opportunity to present their work in the workshop. Furthermore, this workshop is a fantastic environment to practice public speaking for future conferences. Note that no prior publications or scientific results are required to attend this workshop. We encourage fresh doctoral students to present ideas or general outlines of their planned dissertations.
The workshop is held in lecture hall MaD 207 in Mattilanniemi campus at the University of Jyväskylä (Ahlmaninkatu 2), on Tuesday November 7th. The presentations are between 12:15 and 16:00, after which there will be some social activity and food for the attendees. Participation is free of charge.
Please register to the workshop by sending an e-mail to tiia-maria.h.pasanen@jyu.fi with “FYSW2023” as the subject of the e-mail at latest on Monday 23rd of October. Please state whether you wish to give a presentation, the title of your presentation, and your current academic affiliation and position. Additionally, please specify if you will join the social activity, and if you do, state if you have any allergies or special diet requirements. More detailed instructions will be sent later for those registered.
